Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Training

BRAA has partnered with the Nation Apartment Association’s Education Institute to host a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Training Course. This course features National Speaker, Rich George, who will prepare community managers and experienced assistant mangers to receive their CAM credentials. You’ll learn about:

  • Occupancy rates
  • Comprehensive marketing plans
  • Sales team management and product readiness
  • Equitable treatment of current and potential residents
  • Resident retention and the maintenance of a positive company image
  • Consistent and ongoing resident communication
  • Positive resident service and issue resolution
  • Enforcement of company policy in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Property inspections
  • Preventive maintenance programs
  • Service request process
  • Apartment turnover process
  • Contractors and vendors
  • Recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of high-caliber employees
  • Systematic employee evaluation
  • Employment regulations and record keeping
  • Analysis of the property’s financial operations with corrective actions for underperformance
  • Monitoring of property performance to achieve the owner’s investment goals
  • Accounting principles and practices
  • Maximizing net operating income
  • Reporting property performance honestly and accurately

Training Details

Training will be held at the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors located at 14101 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. It will take place Monday January 22, 2018 through Friday, January 26, 2018, 9 AM – 5 PM. The cost is $825 for members and $925 for non-members. Absolutely no refunds will be issued. If for any reason you cannot attend the course, you or your company may send someone in your place. If you choose to drop the class and cannot replace your seat, you may receive a credit towards another National Training course.

Registration is open to current 2017 Supplier Members without an outstanding balance. Non-members are welcome to exhibit with an acquired prorated membership to BRAA. Prime Tables (near food and bars) are $450 and Regular Tables are $350. Your registration includes a 6’ table, 2 chairs, wastebasket, and 2 vendor tickets. continues as the largest, most significant event of the year! BRAA’s annual Trade Show provides supplier members with a prime opportunity to show off their products and services. This is one of the best opportunities you will have to come face-to-face with the decision makers. It’s an event you DON’T want to miss!

The Renaissance Hotel rules are that no outside alcoholic beverages may be distributed at the Trade Show booths. Violations will be addressed by the Renaissance Hotel Security.

About the Louisiana Attorney General’s Equal Opportunity Section:
The Equal Opportunity Section is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Louisiana Equal Housing Opportunity Act, including the investigation, conciliation, and judicial enforcement of fair housing claims. Staff personnel, in compliance with federal law, review reports of discrimination in housing based on an individual’s race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, or familial status. The section also provides information to Louisiana citizens, builders, developers, owners, buyers and renters on their responsibilities and rights regarding the renting and/or purchase of dwellings under the Louisiana Equal Housing Opportunity Act and the federal Fair Housing Act.
